Overhand Knot
A quick, easy termination knot, typically used to ‘mark’ a section of rope (such as the centre) or to clip on items to be lifted or lowered. A higher strength loss and difficulty to untie when heavily loaded means this wouldn’t be a particularly good knot to anchor ropes or lanyards with.
